    Sociology of Cinema:

    Objective:

    • It is believed that Film has powerful image of a Society, it is more powerful than conventional academic medium. The Course has following objective
    • This course will make the understanding of Indian Society through the medium of Films.
    • An advanced understanding of the uses of cinema as a primary source of social change in India.
    • To provide an understanding of cinema's development over time through literary and filmic, so that student could be able to analyses independently historical evidence.
    • To understand the changing relationship between cinema and the wider society through the period.
    • This course will examine the development of India since independence, with particular emphasis on social change in a post-colonial context.
    • Films will be used to examine the trajectory of Indian society in the recent past.
