FROM THE DESK OF CHANCELLOR A Dream Fullfilled

Dreaming is a common and pleasant attribute of human nature, but only few persons are fortunate enough to have their dreams come true, particularly in their lifetime. I am one of those lucky persons who have seen with their own eyes the transformation of their sweet dreams into reality. Mohammad Ali Jauhar University of Rampur, established under the aegis of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust and dream has come true It is a tribute to Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, the great freedom fighter of our country, who asserted while addressing the Round Table Conference in London, “Either give me freedom or give me two yards place for my grave. I do not want to go back to a slave country.” This university, named after such a great patriot and revolutionary, has been established as a private University through an Act (UP Act No.19 of 2006) passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature and approved by the Hon’ble Governor of the State on June 16, 2006.

The varsity aims at emerging as one of the best institutions all over the globe in terms of its infrastructural facilities and academic excellence. It is at present in the process of development and only time will prove the veracity of our claim. We are confident to achieve our goals very soon. It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, Rampur, has started its academic operations on receipt of authorization letter, dated 30th July 2012, from the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh.

The university was inaugurated on its VIth Foundation Day, i.e., on 18th September 2012 by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Engineer Shri Akhilesh Yadav. It was the same day six years ago, the18th September 2006 when the foundation stone of the university was laid by Rafeeq-Ul-Mulk Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav the then Hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the former Defence Minister of the country. I hope the Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, Rampur, with its multi-dimensional academic programs will encourage and inspire many students of all sections of the society to pursue higher education, especially those who could not do it by now for social, financial and geographical constraints. Although there has been a manifold expansion in the field of higher education in India, the issue of equal opportunity to quality education is still a cause of concern. This university is committed to address these issues, with its relevant innovative, applied and value-oriented programs and to develop the best citizens of the country out of the young and forthcoming generations. I wish the students of this University a bright career and prosperous life.
